Not the sunny beach weekend I had planned....

Not the sunny beach weekend I had planned.... But, we made the best of it regardless. After hearing it was going to be a beautiful weekend all week long... It turned out to be rainy and cold on Saturday. Those weather forecasters couldn't have been more wrong if they'd tried. Damn them! The Spawn and I ended up trekking out anyway, hoping for the best. I really do live within driving distance of some of the most beautiful sights, I feel fortunate that even on a not so beautiful day, I can take these beautiful pictures.  My goal is to start exploring more, though... When we are not all clutched so tightly in the grasp of a pandemic. If there is one thing that has come of all this COVID-19 stuff, it's this... There is a lot to my state that I've never seen or experienced because I've been afraid to drive in traffic or wander too far by myself. It's time for me to start wandering.  |

I have to agree with you my home state of NY is mighty big and lots to see. Yet I stay home . A NJ transplant I miss the hot Sand of the Jersey shore. Here in the mountains of NY they are water falls to see think I'll make a list and check them off one by one. Beautiful picture of the lights house.

Wandering is always good. Good for the soul.......no matter where it takes you. That does look like a beautiful part of the world. Where is everyone? I understand that the accuracy of the weather forecasting has suffered because of the drastic reduction in weather data from flights. The forecasts here are only accurate 24-49 hrs in advance, anything longer term and they're completely unreliable at the moment.

This weekend the humidity was terrible so I did nothing. Wednesday this week regardless of the weateher going up the coast to Boothbay Harbor, the botanical gardens and some seafood

I know all about the weather man being wrong. Ha ha it is interesting to get out and explore the area you are from. My family has been in this area since 1807, and I do enjoy history. I use to do some traveling, delivering horse trailers and some farm equipment. After I made the delivery, I would take my time and explore some of the places along the way home. Pretty interesting.

The oldest g-girl and I took in some sights at neighboring towns, 1 listed home after another. Sometimes it was exciting imagining what could be, other times we never even got out of the car. All in all, I enjoy it when we get to spend time together doing anything.

One of the very few silver linings of Covid 19 is doing more outside explorations. 3njoy

I came out of hiding just to comment on your post. So many people don't go anywhere alone because "What if something happens?" My answer is always, "What if something doesn't? Then you've missed out." There are a lot of challenges right now for exploring our state but it can be done. You are located in a really good spot for outdoor activities (where social distancing is easier). Every place I go, I look at the 'tourist' box to see what brochures might be interesting. Thanks for sharing your weekend with me I did some yard work, shopping, found some new songs, read a book (Ian Rankin) I don't like wearing a mask, but, have done so since end of March (hard to believe it has been that long) I watched "The Alienist" finale. I liked it, seeing Dakota Fanning all grown up since "War of the Worlds" and, the series has been well written.
